Design
A controlled clinical trial with parallel groups, without blinding, randomized, on 40 patients. The rand function of Excel software will be used for randomization.
Settings and conduct
The statistical population of the present study will consist of all ninth-grade female students in Ahvaz city with social anxiety who are studying in the academic year 2025-2026. In the sample selection stage, the available sampling method will be used. After selecting the samples to a volume of 40 people based on the research entry and exit criteria, the participants will be randomly assigned to two groups: "emotion-focused therapy" (intervention group) and "waiting list" (control group).
Participants/Inclusion and exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Girls aged 14-15 years, Ninth grade girls, Achieving a score of one standard deviation above the mean in social anxiety
Exclusion criteria: Unwillingness to participate in the study, Participation in other educational sessions at least one month before the study

Randomization description
The statistical population of the present study will consist of all ninth-grade female students diagnosed with social anxiety, who are currently enrolled in the academic year 2025-2026. In the sampling phase, a convenience sampling method will be employed. After selecting a sample of 40 participants based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, they will be randomly assigned to two groups: the ‘Emotion-Focused Therapy’ group (intervention group) and the ‘Waitlist’ group (control group). Randomization will be performed using variable-sized block randomization (blocks of 4 and 6) by an independent statistician uninvolved in the trial process. The randomization sequence will be generated using the RAND function in Microsoft Excel and then placed in opaque, sealed, and numbered envelopes to ensure the researcher and participants are unaware of the allocation sequence (allocation concealment). The envelopes will be opened to reveal the group allocation only at the time each participant enters the study. To ensure the equivalence of baseline variables, their distribution in the two groups will be examined during the statistical analysis phase.
